First successful call
Try one check.
Know exactly what happened.
Start with an unpaid connection check. A live safety check costs 0.001 USDC on Base. It does not execute a swap.
1. Choose your outcome
Use a project label, never a secret or personal information. Labels are caller-reported attribution.Ready. No wallet connection required.Continue
2. Run locally when ready
The example probes without payment by default. The explicit
--pay option authorizes one 0.001 USDC service charge
using your local dedicated wallet. It refuses a different price,
recipient, asset or chain.
npm install @x402/fetch@2.21.0 @x402/evm@2.21.0 viem@2.55.11 node first-call.mjs # For a paid call, set SAFEROUTE_DEMO_PRIVATE_KEY locally first. # Keep the key private. Your wallet needs Base USDC. node first-call.mjs --pay
Success prints paid_response_received, the settlement
transaction and service result. Payment uncertainty is an error, never
an automatic fresh retry.
3. Verify and keep the evidence
Save the request ID, transaction hash and returned result. The transaction can be checked on BaseScan. A settled service payment is separate from any later trade execution.
